Editorial policy
1. Sourcing
Every statistic we publish carries a named source, a year, and a link to the original publication. We prefer primary sources (national registries, government bodies, peer-reviewed journals, the named international diabetes federation) over secondary summaries, and we say so in the citation line when a figure is a well-known estimate rather than a primary count.
2. Accuracy and review
Each figure is re-checked against its source on a recurring schedule (see the note on the statistics page). If a source updates or a number turns out wrong, we correct the page and change its review date. On-schedule corrections are normal practice, not hidden publication.
3. No fabrication, ever
We do not invent facts to fill space. Where a number, accreditation, statistic, or institution is not verified, it simply does not appear. Thin and honest beats padded and wrong.
4. Medical boundaries
The Nephron Network is educational. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment and it never recommends one clinician over another. Clinical guidance belongs to qualified professionals. THOTA compliance is absolute: we present organ donation as altruistic and lawful, we never display commercial organ pricing, and we will not link to any operation that trades organs for money.
5. Directory listings
Entries in the directory state what the organisation itself publishes and link to the organisation's own site. We do not vouch for bed counts, accreditations, or treatment outcomes of any centre. A listing is navigation help, not an endorsement.
6. Corrections and contacts
Everyone makes mistakes; the difference is being reachable about them. Use the contact page to report a factual error, an outdated source, or a broken link. We treat every correction as a review trigger.
7. Independence
We do not sell links, placements, or reviews, and we accept no payment to list, highlight, or remove any organisation. The directory has no sponsored entries.
